This position is performed exclusively on-site at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (03151 Wms. Co. Rd. 24.25).

JOB DESCRIPTION
Library Assistant CCNO
Library Assistant – CCNO (Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio) is directly supervised by the Manager of Inmate Programs at CCNO. Job duties and conditions include the following:

Organize and maintain the library collections.

Assist inmates and staff in the use of the library.

Perform circulation duties, shelve library materials, provide reader’s advisory service for inmates, develop programs and perform other duties as required or assigned.

This position assigned to CCNO must work on-site at the corrections facility and must comply with all rules and regulations of CCNO.
Requirements:

Must maintain residency in Northwest Ohio area served by CCNO.

Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license.

Must possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency and a minimum of one (1) year of library or customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Must complete a minimum of 40 hours of basic corrections officer training and required semi-annual training.

Must meet all medical requirements and comply with all CCNO rules and regulations.

Must be able to present a positive, professional image; interact and respond appropriately to inmates and staff; develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and co-workers; lift, retrieve and reshelf library materials; and demonstrate physical strength necessary to transfer materials from one location to another.

Must possess working skills in typing and recording functions; ability to type accurately; ability to alphabetize and file; ability to perform basic clerical tasks; ability to learn various types of electronic and/ or manual recording and computerized information systems; ability to work with inmates and employees; and ability to work effectively and independently.
