Bryan Library Open for Limited Hours/Services

Bryan Main Library Now Open for Limited Hours/Services! Please continue reading for our temporary hours and new protocols for inside the library. WCPL branches in Edgerton, Edon, Pioneer, Stryker, and West Unity will continue to solely offer curbside services at this time.

In order to create a safe library environment for our patrons and staff, we have made protocol changes for visiting inside the library. These protocols are guided by local, state, and national health officials. We ask for your flexibility and patience during this time. We are continuously monitoring the health situation, and protocol changes may be made as updates from health officials and the Ohio Governor are made available. We thank all of our patrons and community members for your continuous support for the library! You are all so appreciated by WCPL!

Temporary Library Hours:

Our temporary open hours will be the same as the current Bryan Main Library curbside service hours, which are 10am to 1pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 4pm to 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 11am have been designated as browsing time for Senior Citizens, age 60 and older, as well as for those who are immune compromised.

Inside the Library Protocols:

Everyone is required to wear a mask/face covering for the duration of their time inside the library. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2 or to those unable to do so due to a medical condition. The library does have a limited amount of masks to give to patrons who don’t have a mask of their own to wear.

Each patron will be required to pass a health assessment before entering the library, and upon entering will need to use hand sanitizer, then put on a provided pair of gloves.

If you do not wish to wear a mask/gloves, or do not agree to the library health assessment, we are happy to accommodate you through our curbside services. Learn more at:

If you are returning materials, designated carts for returns will be available in the lobby entrance of the library. Please place your materials into the return carts before using hand sanitizer, and donning gloves.

Please Note: Items will still appear on your library card for a week after they are returned as we are quarantining materials for 7 days prior to disinfecting and checking in. No fines are being charged during this time.

Food and drinks are prohibited to bring inside the library.

Browsing has been limited to the first floor of the library. Material selections from our upstairs Adult Dept. have been moved to the first floor for browsing. Magazines and newspapers will not be available to read or checkout. (Many magazine publications are available for digital checkout on Libby/Overdrive) Staff assistance is limited in order to maintain social distance.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The children’s play areas are temporarily closed, and all toys have been put away for safety.

Maintain six feet of distance between yourself and others. Lounge seating is currently unavailable.

Occupancy is limited and each patron will be allotted a maximum browsing time of 30 minutes. For this reason, we ask that for now, please plan to exit the library once you have checked out your materials.

Please do not re-shelve items. If you change your mind about an item you have picked up, simply place it on the provided cart for re-shelving items.

Meeting rooms are temporarily unavailable for reservation, and all library programming will be held online.
