Carnegie Concert Series Announces 2019 Schedule

The Williams County Public Library Carnegie Concert Series is excited to announce the 2019 schedule! January through May will feature a performance each month with the latest up and coming singers/musicians! Performance dates are as follows:

Friday, January 11: Jeff Tucker

Jeff Tucker began his music career as a high school and college student in New Orleans during the 1970's. He performed with the Toledo-based group On the Beach for twenty years, before retiring the name in 2015. Today, Tucker continues to produce works of original music while earning a living as a performer. His recent concert sets draw heavily from his 2017 release, "Rock & Roll Soul", and he performs from Northern Michigan to South Florida; New Orleans to the Carolina Lowcountry.

Friday, February 8: Jen Sygit

Singer-Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jen Sygit has three solo albums under her belt with her latest release "So Long Pollyanna" named as album of the year by both John Bommarito (107.1 fm Ann Arbor, MI) and The Progressive Torch & Twang (88.9 fm East Lansing, MI). "So Long Pollyanna" was also nominated for two Jammie Awards (WYCE Grand Rapids, MI) including Best Song for "Sugar High" which later won Best Country Song at the Garden State Film Festival in 2014 for its use in the independent film "Buffalo".

Friday, March 8: Ted Yoder

Ted Yoder’s hammered dulcimer cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” became one of the most watched Facebook Live posts in 2016, when the song received more than 101 million views from music fans around the world. Ted immediately became an internet sensation known as the lovable, “Dulcimer Dad.”

Since then, Yoder’s performance style in popular songs has become known as “Yoderizing.” Why? Because until you hear Ted Yoder, it’s impossible to imagine that one wooden stringed instrument can sound like an entire rock band, or a whole symphony orchestra all in one.

Friday, April 19: Ezra Miller

Ezra Miller is a local musician who loves playing any time he can get the chance. Ezra enjoys putting his own acoustic twist on contemporary pop music, to make a unique sound. At his performances, audience members are able to enjoy a little bit of everything, as Ezra also loves playing country, classic rock and indie music during his set.

Friday, May 24: Tom Begich

The bohemian son of a family steeped in Alaska politics and the product of a life of music and art, Tom Begich’s music and poetry resonates with the stories and the conflicts of the human condition. Tom has performed all over the country as a solo artist and has released six CDs, with his latest release, "Traveling Through", being released in late 2014. In 2016 he was elected to the Alaska State Senate, becoming the first professional musician to be elected to that Legislative body.

The Carnegie Concert Series was created by Williams County Public Library as a way to showcase musicians, both local and nationwide. The series has already featured talented artists such as Olivia Millerschin, Dakota Dave Hall, Whitney Mann, Kerry Patrick Clark, and Seth Abram. These events have limited seating so the library encourages attendees to arrive early.  Doors will open half an hour before each show at 6:30 pm and will lock at 7:00 pm out of courtesy to the performer.  All of the concerts are free to the public and are funded through donations.

All concerts will take place in the Carnegie area of the Bryan Main Library, which is located at 107 E. High Street Bryan, OH 43506. For more information on the upcoming concerts, please contact 419-636-6734 ext. 274.
