The Stryker Branch Library invites area children and families to take part in the exciting programs that will be offered during Summer Reading! With a theme of “A Universe of Stories” summer reading will run from June 4 through June 26. All programs will begin at 1:00 pm, unless otherwise noted.
Programming will start on Tuesday, June 4 with a “Summer Reading Kickoff”! Join us for a Puppet Show and Scavenger Hunt! Don’t miss the Summer Reading opening day! At 11:00 am, on Wednesday, June 5 the Toledo 11 Weatherman, Chris Vickers, will be at the library. Stick around after the program for a special lunch, served at the library. Come see the Exotic Zoo on Thursday, June 6 at 11:00 am! Get close to many live exotic animals, such as reptiles and birds from around the world! The Challenger Learning Center will be visiting on Wednesday, June 12, and will bring a real SkyLab Mobile Planetarium! This is your chance to visit a planetarium right in the library! The Williams County YMCA will bring an action packed program to the library on Wednesday, June 12. There will be lots of fun games and activities! Enjoy a program filled with laughter as Kevin Kammeraad puts on a show filled with puppets, music, and more on Thursday, June 13. At 11:00 am, on Tuesday, June 18 a very special program will be coming to the library! Attend “Cirque Amongus”, a hands on learning experience that will teach kids different circus tricks! The program will end with a colorful performance, in which every child is a star! Parents bring your cameras, and capture some great photos of your child performing! Lunch will be provided after the show. There will be “Puppets, Puppets, Puppets” on Wednesday June 19! Watch puppet shows and enjoy a tasty treat afterwards. Join us for a smile-filled program! Take part in games, crafts, and more with “Everything Moon Rocks” on Thursday, June 20. Attend a “Kids Zumba and Pound Class” with LaVon Benner on Tuesday, June 25. Don’t miss this great chance to rock out and work out at the same time! The Summer Reading Closing Party will be held on Wednesday, June 26, and will feature special guest Jeff Nicholas. Jeff is a gifted artist who tells stories through his drawings! Make sure to attend, as there will be door prizes, as well as special prizes for those involved in the Summer Reading program. Lunch will be provided following the show.
