NEWS Retirement Reception for Jane Huffman Williams County Public Library will hold a “Retirement Reception”, in honor of Local History & Genealogy Coordinator, Jane Huffman. The reception will take place in the Carnegie Room of the Bryan Main Library, located at 107 E High St, Bryan, OH 43506, and will be held on Sunday, May 15th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The public is welcome to attend, and the event is open to all ages. Cupcakes, punch, and other food goodies will be served. Celebrate the 37 years of service Jane has dedicated to the library! WCPL Closed for Memorial Day The Williams County Public Library with branches in Bryan, Edgerton, Edon, Pioneer, Stryker, and West Unity will be closed on Monday, May 30th in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. MORE at WCPL More Games: Video games for Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation are now available to checkout at Williams County Public Library! Games are displayed and available to browse at the Bryan Main Library. All WCPL patrons can place holds on video games, with our online catalog, on our website https://mywcpl.org/, and then pickup at your local WCPL branch, once your holds are in. Video games will have a checkout period of 7 days, with 1 renewal. All video games with a mature rating must be checked out with an adult card. Bryan Main Library BINGO AT THE LIBRARY: Come take part in friendly competition & play BINGO at the Bryan Main Library! Play against friends and fellow BINGO lovers, every other Monday at 5:30 pm, with the next meeting on May 16th. Prizes will be awarded to winners! This is a FREE program for adults, and no registration is required to attend. Simply show up and play! BUTTERFLY STORY TIME: Join us at the Bryan Main Library for the third story time in our newly renovated children's library on Monday, May 23rd at 4pm. Led by WCPL Staff member Miss Bekki, in the themed "Butterfly Story Time" we will read books, sing songs, and do a fun butterfly craft just perfect for the beginning of summer! This is a FREE children's program. Registration is required to attend. The Bryan Main Library is located at 107 E. High Street, Bryan, OH 43506. Edgerton Branch Library SENIOR CITIZEN'S SPRING TEA: The Edgerton Branch Library will be hosting its annual Senior Citizen's Spring Tea on Wednesday, May 11th at 9:00 am. Come out to enjoy Brunch & excellent company with tea, coffee, prizes and entertainment. Savor a time of fellowship while enjoying a delicious meal! This is a FREE event, and registration is required, as space is limited to 30 attendants. LEGO CLUB: Join the Lego Club! Different age groups will meet on designated Wednesdays, from 3:15-4:00 pm. Legos will be provided by the library. Please do not bring your own Legos, just bring your creative minds. The Lego Club is a great way to encourage creativity and teamwork amongst young children. It is the perfect program for kids who love to build. So don’t hesitate, drop in and join the building fun!
CANVAS & COOKIES: The popular kids painting class, Canvas & Cookies returns to the Edgerton Branch Library! This FREE program, for kids ages 8 and older, will be held on 4th Monday of each month, from 6 to 7 pm. The next class will be held on May 23rd, with the project being to paint an Ice Cream Cone Creation! Bring your creativity! You must register to attend. All materials and refreshments will be provided by the library. The Edgerton Branch Library is located at 319 North Michigan Avenue, Edgerton, OH 43517. Edon Branch Library BABYSITTER TRAINING VIDEO COURSE: The Edon Branch Library will offer a Babysitter Training Video Course in May! Learn the skills needed to be a babysitter. View the American Red Cross video course and complete the lessons to get appropriate training for safe childcare. The FREE course will be held on Friday, May 13th at 10am. Register to attend. RAISED BED GARDENING 101: The Edon Branch Library invites adults to take part in the 3-part instructional series, "Raised Bed Gardening 101". This hands-on, FREE program, will be instructed by OSU Master Gardener Volunteer, Jenny McKarnes, from the Wms County Community Gardening Assn. The class schedule will be as follows:
Part 1-Building the Bed on May 19
Part 2-Trellis and Planting on May 25 Part 3-Tending on June 9th All classes will be held at 5:30 pm. Attendants will meet at the Edon Community Garden at the Library plot. Registration is required to attend.
BOARD GAMES & SNACKS: Bring your friends and family to compete on board games, some old, some new at the Edon Branch Library, on the Fridays of May 20th and 27th. Enjoy a snack and have some fun from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. No registration is required to attend this FREE program.
Family Dinner & Movie Night: On Monday, May 23rd, the Edon Branch Library will be having a Family Dinner & Movie Night! Families are invited to come in their jammies, enjoy a FREE and relaxing night out at the library! Starting at 6:00 pm, enjoy a fun evening of entertainment, watching "Encanto" (rated PG) in the newly renovated library meeting room. Dinner and snacks will be served. You don’t have to spend money to have a great family night together, simply visit the library! This is a FREE program for families, and no registration is required to attend.

Pioneer Branch Library TWISTED FIBERS: The Pioneer Branch Library will hold a weekly meeting for fiber art enthusiasts titled, "Twisted Fibers"! Meetings will be held on Thursdays at 10am, with the first meeting being held on May 5th. If you have a love for fiber art, or are interested in learning more about the craft, you are welcome to attend the meetings. Make new friends as you join fellow fiber art enthusiasts, who knit, crochet, weave, and more! This is a free adult program and no experience is necessary to attend. Stryker Branch Library RIGHT TO READ WEEK: Celebrate Right to Read Week, May 9-13, at the Stryker Branch Library! Take part in daily exciting programs. Kids in Kindergarten through 6th Grade are invited to visit the library to join in on afterschool activities, guessing jars, and more! All programs will run from 3:15 to 4:00 pm, unless otherwise stated. Each day of Right to Read Week will hold something special. On Wednesday, May 11 stop in for face painting, cotton candy, and helium balloons!. Play Bingo afterschool on Thursday, May 12. Stop in all day on Friday, May 13 and test out your guessing skills with the library guessing jars. QUILLING ART: 2022 is RETRO YEAR at the Stryker Branch Library! Each month we will be offering “blast from the past” programs! On Saturday, May 14th, the library invites adults to come and learn the fine art of quilling, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. No experience is necessary. Make your own masterpiece to take home! This is a FREE program, and registration is required by Friday, as spots are limited. PICASSO’S PAINTERS: The May meeting for Picasso’s Painters will be on Saturday, May 21, and the project will be to make an Altered Book. WCPL staff member, Samantha Wisnewski will give artistic guidance to attendants as they work on their project.This teen program is FREE to attend, and all supplies will be provided by the library. West Unity Branch Library GARDEN CLUB: Kids and teens are invited to join the Garden Club at West Unity Branch Library! The club currently meets each Wednesday at 3:30pm. Participants will plan out what to plant in the West Unity Branch Library garden, take care of weeding and watering the garden beds, do garden crafts, play garden games, and take part in other activities that involve gardening. This is a FREE program, and you must register to attend as space is limited. LEGO CHALLENGE: The West Unity Branch Library invites kids and teens of all ages to take part in LEGO Challenges in the month of May! Held on the Thursdays of May 12 and 26, at 4pm, there will be a new challenge at each meeting. Use your creativity to see what you can build! This is a FREE event and no registration is required to attend. FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: On Friday, May 13th, the West Unity Branch Library will be having a Family Movie Night! Families are invited to enjoy a FREE and relaxing night out at the library! Starting at 5:30 pm, enjoy a fun evening of entertainment, watching Sing 2 (rated PG) on the library 50” screen. A meal and snacks will be served. You don’t have to spend money to have a great family night together, simply visit the library! This is a FREE program for families, and registration is required to attend. PAJAMA STORY TIME: The West Unity Branch Library will be holding the weekly family program, “Pajama Story Time” on the Monday nights of May 16th, & 23rd at 6pm. Toddlers through 2nd graders are invited to come dressed in their pajamas, bring their stuffed animal friend, and listen to bedtime stories. There will also be games and crafts. This is a FREE program, and registration is not required to attend. NOAH'S ARK OCEAN ANIMAL WORKSHOP: The West Unity Branch Library will be hosting a Noah's Ark Animal Workshop on Thursday, May 19th. There will be two “ocean themed” workshop sessions during the day, with a morning workshop at 10 am, and an afternoon workshop at 3:30 pm. Children, ages 4 through 10 years old, can come to the library, and build their own ocean animal to cherish for years to come! This is a FREE program, and you must register to attend, as spots for each workshop session are limited. ENDANGERED SPECIES HOMESCHOOLING DAY: The West Unity Branch Library May Homeschooling Day will take place on Friday, May 20 at 10 am, and the topic will be Endangered Species. Guest speaker, Naturalist Lauren Broddrick from Maumee Bay State Park will bring some animals, and items from some endangered or recently endangered animals. This program is open to homeschooling children and families. Please register to attend. SCAVENGER HUNT DAY: Celebrate National Scavenger Hunt Day on Tuesday, May 24th, at the West Unity Branch Library! Starting at 4pm, kids and teens are invited to put their detective skills to use, and take part in several scavenger hunts! This is a FREE program, and no registration is required to attend.
