Vintage Medicine Road Show
Step back in time to a “Vintage Medicine Road Show” with the Black Swamp Medicine Girls, Susan Wiesehan and Jeanne Caryer at the Bryan Main Library. Enjoy shows like you have never seen before on February 23 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Harmon room of the library West Annex building.
February is Fairy Tale Month
Celebrate the magic of Fairy Tales at the Bryan Main Library with special programming all through the month of February! The Children’s Dept. will be holding themed story times based on tales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the Three Little Pigs, Jacks and the Beanstalk, and more. Story time is held weekly on Tuesdays at 11:00 am and 6:30 pm. Stop by the library and pick up a calendar for the full schedule. On Saturday, February 27 everyone is welcome to celebrate one of the most beloved fairy tales of all time with a special viewing of the new live action Cinderella feature film (rated PG). The movie will begin at 7:00 pm and doors will open 15 minutes prior to show time. All ages are invited to this family program but space is limited to 100 people. Movie attendees must sign up at the Children's Desk or call 419-636-6734 ext. 221 or 223 to reserve your spot.
Learn About Juicing
Monique Tressler, our Bryan hometown organic co-op market place and director of “All Things Food” is doing demonstrations about “juicing” on March, 8, 2016 in the Harmon Room, West Annex, Bryan Library, 10:00-11:30 am. Come join fellow juicing enthusiasts. Learn how to combine fresh, flavorful, organic, healthful fruits and veggies into delicious drinks and smoothies to boost your immune system to give you more energy and still get in your daily nutritional fruits and veggies. Art Show in Pioneer
Art students under the instruction of Sandra Lashaway will be exhibiting their work at the Pioneer Branch Library from March 7-18 during normal business hours. The library will also hold an Open House on Monday, March 07 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Classes represented will be hands on art history, charcoal drawing, water color painting, and much more. Sandra has been instructing students of all ages and backgrounds for over six years.
Book Bundles at Bryan & Edgerton Libraries
Introduce your child to something new when you check out Book Bundles from the library! Book bundles are made up of 4 to 5 books on a specific topic picked by our librarians and can be checked out just like other books. The bundles are a great way to have your child explore topics they may have previously ignored, such as: Dinosaurs, Birthdays, Bedtimes, Farms and many more!
Allegiant Release Party
Break the boundaries at the Allegiant release party at the Bryan Main Library from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 18th. This teen program, for ages 10 to 15, celebrates the latest movie in the Divergent series. Put your Dauntless skills to the test and see how you would fare in a Dystopian world. Take up the challenges and face your fears to see if you have what it takes. Three lucky teens will each win a movie pass!
iPad Mini & Gift Basked Giveaway!
To Celebrate National Library Week , the library will have two special giveaways at each branch, an educational gift basket for children, ages newborn through 5 years old, and an IPad Mini, for patrons six years and older. Patrons will receive a ticket/chance to enter into the contest for each book/material checked out. For those who are new to the library, when you sign up for a library card you will automatically receive 10 tickets/chances to win the contest! When signing up for a library card you must have a photo form of ID, such as a driver’s license, and a piece of mail with your current address. Beginning on Monday, March 28, the contest will run through National Library Week, with winners being chosen on Friday, April 15.
