Brighten with Blooms

The Williams County Public Library in Bryan is once again inviting patrons who are interested to adopt a flower pot and plant it with their favorite flowers as part of the “Brighten with Blooms” effort at the library.  Or donate $20, and the library will buy and plant the flowers for you. 

Book Spine Poetry Contest

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Edgerton Branch Library will be doing “Book Spine Poetry” for the month of April. People can create their own poem using the spines of 4-7 books to create a poem. They can do it at the library or use books from their own collection and take a picture and email it to shanea@mywcpl.org. They just need to put Book Spine Poetry Contest in the subject line. A prize will be awarded for the top poem submitted. The Edgerton Branch Library is located at 319 N. Michigan Avenue. Celebrate National Library Week

To celebrate National Library Week, all locations of WCPL will have an amnesty period from April 11 through April 15 when fines will be forgiven on overdue materials.  We will also have two special giveaways at each branch, an educational gift basket for children, ages newborn through 5 years old, and an iPad Mini, for patrons six years and older.

To Celebrate National Library Week , the library will have two special giveaways  at each branch, an educational gift basket for children, ages newborn through 5 years old, and an IPad Mini, for patrons six years and older. Patrons will receive a ticket/chance to enter into the contest for each book/material checked out. For those who are new to the library, when you sign up for a library card you will automatically receive 10 tickets/chances to win the contest! When signing up for a library card you must have a photo form of ID, such as a driver’s license, and a piece of mail with your current address. Beginning on Monday, March 28, the contest will run through National Library Week, with winners being chosen on Friday, April 15.

Allegiant Release Party

Break the boundaries at the Allegiant release party at the Bryan Main Library from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 18th. This teen program, for ages 10 to 15, celebrates the latest movie in the Divergent series. Put your Dauntless skills to the test and see how you would fare in a Dystopian world. Take up the challenges and face your fears to see if you have what it takes. Three lucky teens will each win a movie pass!

Art Show in Pioneer

Art students under the instruction of Sandra Lashaway will be exhibiting their work at the Pioneer Branch Library from March 7-18 during normal business hours. The library will also hold an Open House on Monday, March 07 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Classes represented will be hands on art history, charcoal drawing, water color painting, and much more. Sandra has been instructing students of all ages and backgrounds for over six years.

Learn About Juicing

Monique Tressler, our Bryan hometown organic co-op market place and director of “All Things Food” is doing demonstrations about “juicing” on March, 8, 2016  in the Harmon Room, West Annex, Bryan Library, 10:00-11:30 am. Come join fellow juicing enthusiasts. February is Fairy Tale Month

Once Upon a Time...Celebrate the magic of Fairy Tales at the Bryan Main Library with special programming all through the month of February!  The Children’s Dept. will be holding themed story times based on tales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the Three Little Pigs, Jacks and the Beanstalk, and more. Story time is held weekly on Tuesdays at 11:00 am and 6:30 pm. Stop by the library and pick up a calendar for the full schedule. On Saturday, February 27 everyone is welcome to celebrate one of the most beloved fairy tales of all time with a special viewing of the new live action Cinderella feature film (rated PG). The movie will begin at 7:00 pm and doors will open 15 minutes prior to show time. All ages are invited to this family program but space is limited to 100 people. Movie attendees must sign up at the Children's Desk or call 419-636-6734 ext. 221 or 223 to reserve your spot.
